Why “King, Priest & Servant” ?
“And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”
“But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:”
This site is about Jesus, the Bible, salvation, christian walk and a bit of other stuff. The title of this site is derived from the above scriptures, we are Priests unto God, Kings to the devil and Servants to our brethren, servernthood is commanded by Jesus but you have to make yourself a servant just like Jesus did in Philippians 2:7, its a choice.
I’ve come to discover through my short walk with the Lord Jesus so far is that prayer, choices, life etc without REVELATION is a burden, it’s like groping in the dark. The Holy Spirit Speaks, He has helped me fix things from ear buds to computers, websites, solutions to people who seek counsel et al.
God is good.
What is Christianity ?
Contrary to common misinformed distorted and unfounded beliefs, Christianity is NOT a RELIGION and shouldn’t be advertised and taken as such. The word Christian simply means “a follower of Jesus” not a follower of religion, pastors or the pope, I hope you get it ?
And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
Christians were first called as such by gentiles as seen in the above scripture. We can further expound the word here.
Jesus didn’t bring religion or denominations.
So why did Jesus come ?
Jesus didn’t come to give you happiness, wealth or money, these are the things which follow when you receive the free gift of salvation, when you seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness (Mathew 6:33).
Jesus came for two reasons.
Jesus came to save His people from their sins
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil
The devil, a looser who is headed for the lake of fire and wants to take as many people as he can with him.
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Salvation and the Gospel
Salvation is a gift, defined as; God’s rescue which delivers believers out of destruction and into His safety. Learn More
Its not about what you have to do to be acceptable to God but what Jesus has done. He paid for our sins because there is nothing man can do to be righteous and be accepted by God.
Your acceptance of Jesus Christ as your Lord (You Obey and Do what He commands ) and Savior (You confess that Jesus is the Son of God and you believe in Him) is the ONLY thing that makes you accepted by God
The Gospel, God’s good news, which is the message of salvation through Jesus Christ; Learn More
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
About Strongs Concordance, Thayer’s definition and others (Bible dictionaries & Lexicons).
The Bible never existed until canonization, scripture was originally written in Greek and Hebrew, more so the New Testament, here’s the thing about greek, its the most exact language, for example the word love in English is used in various ways, love for God, love for your spouse etc, same word.
Greek on the other hand has different words for the different kinds of love, the love Jesus referred to in John 14:21 ( agapao? ) , the love referred to by Paul ( agape? ) in 1 Corinthians 13 etc, so you can’t misinterpret a message in Greek, but we don’t all understand Greek or Hebrew so we have to use a translated (word for word conversion) and transliterated (creation of a new word that doesn’t exist in target language) version of the Bible.
That is where strongs concordance and others come in, it helps you know the root Greek and Hebrew words behind every English word in the Bible to give a deeper, clearer interpretation and understanding of scripture.
The Holy Spirit
Hmmm, this would require volumes of books, you may find free useful resources here on the Holy Spirit;
He is the Spirit of God, the glue that holds everything together, the seemingly silent but actively participating aspect of God in every event in your life, family, country, creation etc
He teaches us how to pray, fast, seek God, gives warnings, advice, revelations, prophecies, comforts, heals and delivers.
If you want anything from God, then what you really want is the Holy Spirit, wealth, wisdom, strength, anointing all reside in Him, this will be very evident as your read your Bible.
No Holy Spirit, No Power.
The Kingdom of God
What is the Kingdom of God
For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking but righteousness, joy and peace in the Holy Ghost.
Righteousness comes from the Father, Peace comes from the Prince of Peace, Jesus and Joy in the Holy Ghost. Trinity!
The Holy Spirit Vol 3 by Pastor Robert Kayanja, page 120.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
It is written;
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
If you have Jesus, The Father and the Holy Spirit, you have everything!
Fasting is going without food for a period of time to seek God in prayer.
You will notice in scripture that when people fasted they wore sackcloth instead of beautiful and elegant apparel, this signifies that were putting off “worldly pleasures” and dedicated the time to seek God.
Fasting while you still follow your routine of arguing, anger, watching T.V, whatsapping, facebooking, chating with friends etc will result in God cancelling your fast!
When you fast it means that whatever you did for pleasure will have to be replaced with reading the Word of God, prayer, praise & worship otherwise God will cancel your fast, He will not consider it because you’re not serious about seeking Him.
In Myles Monroe’s own words “fasting will change you!”, I recommend you watch his sermon Understanding How to Pray and Fast Efficiently
